Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with business leaders and key subject matter experts to ensure training is aligned with objectives and understand causes of performance gaps
  • Identify what training is required (or if other solutions will meet the need)
  • Research and investigate; conduct working sessions and interviews with various subject matter experts

Senior Developer

TekSystems (Allegis Group - Professional Development)

September 2018 – March 2024

As a Developer at TekSystems, I construct training modules, applications, software, and more in video format, various interactive formats, audio/podcast formats, and private sites throughout Allegis (TekSystems parent company). I also take on the virtual reality initiative for Professional Development in the building of VR training material and 360 video.

Responsibilities:

  • Use Agile development methodology to create online content across multiple web platforms
  • Develop and maintain training modules for the internal Connected software, Salesforce, Degreed, and LMS platforms using Articulate Storyline, Rise, Movavi, SharePoint, etc.
  • Create video and audio content to inform users of updates
  • Develop and maintain WalkMe materials in the Allegis Connected software
  • Create new ways to train Allegis and create software applications in accordance to trainings
  • Maintain quality of Connected software through Allegis
  • Lead teams of and work closely with SME’s and Stakeholders to create content and input content into the Degreed LMS and CSOD for Allegis
  • Use object-oriented programming to begin to create virtual reality modules

Technology Lead

LHUMC and North County Community Parish

March 2020 – Current

As the Technology Lead, I lead the technical innitiatives for the church and Parish as well as implement and create all video, audio, and live stream content.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop videos for weekly online services
  • Oversee and monitor the live streaming of each weekly service
  • Create video and audio content for church promotions and schedules
  • Act as a member of the LHUMC Leadership Committee, assisting in the making of critical decisions for the church including (but not limited to) technology, direction, service times, activities, and budget.
  • Act as a member of the LHUMC Nominations Committee, assisting in decision of staffing and volunteer staffing for the church.
  • Included alongside my position with technology, I am also a musician for the church, performing each weekend, as well as an occasional liturgist for the services.
  • Plan, develop, and publish websites and UI/UX for the Parish and churches within the Parish
  • Manage technical use and interactivity throughout the NCCP

Open Education Developer/Instructional Technologist

Johns Hopkins University [Bloomberg School of Public Health]

April 2015 – September 2018

As a Open Education Developer/Instructional Technologist, I construct and maintain Massive Open Online Courses (such as those on Coursera, OCW, etc.) for Bloomberg School of Public Health, School of Medicine, and other departments within JHU. These include courses in Psychological First Aid, Introduction to Cancer Biology, Systematic Review and Data Analysis, etc., as well as Course Specializations such as the Data Science Specialization, Genomic Data Science Specialization, etc. I edit the video and audio of lectures to prepare them for publication, create online syllabi from existing content that was geared toward an in-person classroom setting. I also monitor active courses, fixing errors and glitches, and confirming that the courses are complete and appropriate for the platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Create online educational content across multiple web platforms
  • Work as a team alongside faculty and other developers to review and edit content to meet pedagogical goals
  • Use Captivate and Camtasia to develop mp4 video files for technical platforms
  • Maintain the platforms for Massive Open Online Courses, s, taken by more than 4.5 million users, including topics such as: Data Science, Genomic Data Science, Executive Data Science, Cancer Biology, Cancer Metastasis, Psychological First Aid, Global Volunteer Leadership, Vaccine Trials, Data Analysis, etc.
  • Maintain OpenCourseWare using ColdFusion, HTML, CSS, and JS. (As well as Github and Transmit)
  • Staff and administer JHSPH courses via Coursera
  • Create and publish module pages on Coursera platform
  • Use JIRA and agile techniques to manage project milestones and deadlines
  • Collaborate and plan with faculty on development of new online courses
  • Training faculty members, some of whom have very little computer skills, in using web-based classroom software and discussion forums.
  • Aide the faculty members and instructors in formatting their assessment materials to fit the education platform.
  • Build MOOC self serve documentation using HTML and CSS
